Regeneron Compliance to Care

When one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies asked us to conduct a Safety Culture Survey at their flagship European base, we were delighted to help. It provided our intrepid consultants with another opportunity to break beyond UK borders, but most importantly allowed us to do what we enjoy the most; help a business get better at keeping people free from harm.

We tweaked our culture assessment to provide bespoke criteria and focus in on areas they wanted to interrogate, and then did our thing. It’s fair to say we were impressed. The quantitative results were the best we had ever seen. But the real story came from the qualitative results; the anecdotes, stories and lived-experience we heard about in the one-to-one discussions revealed an exceptionally mature and positive culture.

We told them how good they were, provided a huge pat on the back and offered guidance on a few little things we thought would help to consolidate their performance.

And that was that. Except it wasn’t. A few things we’d talked about when planning the culture survey struck a chord with them, and they asked us back to deliver a series of Leadership sessions – to groups consisting of the Site Directors and all their People Managers. The fact that we talked so passionately about moving from Compliance to Care, and how building relationships was the key to achieving that allowed them to see how Lattitude’s ethos aligned so well with their own, and how we could help them realise the improvements they wanted to achieve.

So we dusted off our suitcases and flew out to see them. We tailored the workshop content to include details of their existing safety management processes and initiatives, working hard to make the messages and calls-to-action complimentary and maximise success. We focussed in on our Compliance to Care principles to build a desire to improve, and then talked about practical ways to show we care and build the relationships that underpin the best cultures; giving them the first steps towards the change they strived to achieve.

The workshops were brilliant – thanks mainly to the overwhelming positivity and commitment displayed by everyone who attended. They didn’t just contribute as individuals, they enabled each other to get involved and worked as a team; a huge indicator of interdependence. Two years later, they’re going from strength-to-strength – and we’re paying them a visit every quarter to deliver sessions to new starters and refresh the original teams.

Our client enabled collaboration and co-operation, and enriched the experience and outputs for everyone. Us included. We loved every minute.
